Senior Account Manager (Client) - Sport
Intro
Press Box PR, one of the fastest-growing PR agencies in its sector, is looking for a Senior Account Manager to join the client-facing section of its rapidly expanding sport team and drive its next phase of growth.
Reporting into the department’s commercial leadership team, we seek an exceptional client service-focused Senior Account Manager with a strong digital PR understanding, who excels in growing the value of accounts by building relationships and who has strong stakeholder management and communication skills. You will also have extensive experience in advising clients from a position of expertise, whilst thriving on being adjacent to and representing exciting creative, PR and talent work.
The structure of the sport team means the successful candidate will have client communication and account management as their number one and sole responsibility, working closely alongside creative and media relations experts.
On a daily basis, you will be one of the lead go-to contacts for our biggest sport clients. On a weekly basis, you will be ensuring delivery is met by the wider sport team. On a monthly basis, you will be working with the senior team on the strategy for how to grow our accounts.
The successful candidate will also be encouraged to identify and pitch new leads, actively building a contact base within relevant industries.
Who are PBPR?
Press Box PR is based in Barbican, central London and operates a hybrid model meaning teams spend an average of three days a week working away from home with colleagues in the office and clients at varying sites.
The client services team routinely travels within the UK and further afield to networking, live sport, hospitality and other events.
The role
- Managing a range of PR accounts for some of the world’s biggest and most iconic sports betting and affiliate brands
- Ensuring team fulfilment of the client’s key performance indicators through Digital PR campaigns and earning SEO backlinks via publishers, leading on communication with the client and internal teams
- Growing organic commercial revenue via upsells with existing clients
- Assisting in lead generation and identifying new opportunities with prospective clients
- Supporting the department’s commercial priorities with the Account Directors and Senior Account Directors while managing junior members of the team on day-to-day delivery
- Working to multiple deadlines to oversee end-to-end delivery including leading on client strategy and ideation, working with internal content and media relations stakeholders to deliver coverage and reporting of campaign success and learnings
- Strategic management of internal and external stakeholders in order to maximise time growing the department
- Keen interest in current PR trends and tools as well as the digital media landscape
Requirements
- At least a year’s experience as a showbiz journalist at a mainstream online news publication or in agency as a digital PR
- A thorough understanding of how entertainment, the royals and other relevant topics are covered in digital media in the UK and globally
- A great understanding of the entertainment calendar
- A network of relevant journalist and editor contacts and an ability to grow more
- Ability and creative flair to respond to trending topics to produce stories and research features to secure mainstream media coverage
- Ability to react creatively and efficiently to real-time news to generate coverage
- Strong editorial judgement in entertainment and trending/SEO topics
- Ability to create engaging and newsworthy copy
- A willingness to proactively pitch to media publications
