Case study
B2B betting and gaming awards wins
Brief
For Press Box PR's B2B clients in the gambling industry, gaining recognition from trade media outlets via awards is one of the best ways to promote the brand and increase visibility.
Our brief was to write winning awards entries with compelling proof to get our clients shortlisted.
Strategy
Writing a winning award entry may seem simple and not necessarily worth a case study – but if it were easy, everyone would get shortlisted and more companies would win!
There are so many component parts, such as:
- the necessary research into the publication or entity hosting the award
- due diligence checks on each category, including previous category winners
- researching the judges and their roles and experience
- choosing the perfect categories (plus advising on how many one company should enter)
- knowing the client thoroughly so that you can write with confidence and knowledge about how they qualify to win and exactly why they should win
- extensive experience in writing and editing
- client management to avoid businessese or sales brochure language
- creating a stellar entry that uses plain English and avoids jargon
However, with our team of former journalists and industry bods, the process is one we’re experts in – and that means big, big things for our clients.
Results
For the awards that PressBox PR submitted to in 2024, every single one of our clients made the shortlist!
And one lucky client even took home the gold.
Shortlisted entries included:
- The Global Social Media awards
- EGR’s Power Affiliates (top 25 list – our client QiH Group moved from spot 21 to 16th place)
- EGR’s B2B awards – every single client we submitted an entry for was shortlisted (Pythia Sports, PressBox PR for two categories and QiH Group)
- Women in Gaming Diversity awards, Industry Pride award winner, Simona Stojanovska of QiH Group
Finally, Pythia Sports, which produces data and real-time information for sportsbooks on horse racing, won the EGR B2B award for the category, In-play betting software, taking home the gold and receiving the praise of their peers.
