Brief

Press Box PR was appointed by investment platform Saxo as its retained digital PR agency to deliver linked coverage. The goal was to boost awareness and, ultimately, customer acquisition via traffic growth from improved SEO performance.

Strategy

Press Box PR’s team of journalists developed a strategy called ‘what does this mean for me?’ This involved taking complicated financial and economic topics such as inflation, investing, commodity prices and stocks and shares and breaking them down for a mainstream media audience. The team created highly relevant content that was able to acquire high-authority links, positioning Saxo’s in-house spokespeople as subject matter experts and feeding Google’s expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness (EAT) algorithm.

Press Box PR’s sport team also developed an editorial strategy centred around where finance and sports meet. The team produced regular content for the media, lifting the lid on topics such as the finances behind the football transfer market, as well as delivering editorial coverage using assets from Saxo’s sponsorship of leading rugby team Harlequins.

Results

Press Box PR has delivered more than 1,000 links for Saxo in two years, securing coverage for the brand in some of the most authoritative international publications, from the BBC to the Guardian to Forbes.

The team has also successfully delivered branded campaigns around key events such as ISA season, quarterly earnings reports and Saxo’s famous Outrageous Predictions, in addition to designing a bespoke football vs. investment theme for a World Cup-themed campaign in 2022.
